Ruby's such a love to hate character and i love the direction the character went this season it was devious and crafty specially
the subtle facial expression when something went according to her plan, great viewing. Being Australian we don't get much
on the show (tis y i love the net) and having a con here was awesome and we are all hoping for another one but we need a girl
to break up all the blokes would love to have Ruby if we get another con Pretty Please Genevieve.

I, personally, have liked the character "Ruby" from the beginning and although I wasn't sure I'd like the change in casting,
I think Genevieve is doing an excellent job eveolving into the character. My only disappointment is that her character isn't
given more time/scenes in the show. So my question would be: Do you see yourself getting more time portraying the character
"Ruby?" BTW, I'm glad they've kept Ruby and written out Bella....she seemed to take more from the show rather than add to
it. |

Don't be deterred by any negative comments about Ruby, particularly those whose complaint is that she seems "directionless",
as if EK is just "winging" it. I love the complexity of the Ruby character and your interpretation of her. I *know* EK knows
exactly where your character's heading if even if some fans complain. |

I loved your interview :) You sound like a very intelligent person. I was wondering when we were going to get to know Genevieve,
there are only a few interviews of you out there and only one that I know of gives us a little insight on your thoughts about
Ruby. So I feel very privileged to have read this interview. I never got a chance to watch your show 'Wildfire', but I plan
to because not only do I love horses (my first favorite animal!) but because I want to see you in a different role (you know
the one that doesn't involve being a demon ;) I know there are a lot of people/fans out there who find it very easy to bash

I'm sorry but saying things like "whether the fans like it or not" is just ridiculous. The fans are the driving force behind
this show, if it weren't for them, she wouldn't even HAVE a job.
Also, the fans are not "assuming it's bad acting" because they don't understand, but rather they are calling it like they
see it. She IS a TERRIBLE actress, and she looks even worse while acting with a cast of very, very, good actors.
She needs to go back to doing third rate ABC family show garbage nobody cares about.

I think you're likely a lovely person, and obviously intelligent - but I feel like you're overthinking the character of Ruby.
Bottom line: she's a demon tempting a damaged hero (Sam) into darkness. It's the story of Sam's descent into darkness - it
is not Ruby's story. Her motivations don't matter beyond how they affect Sam - she's a plot point. It's that simple.
Ruby's personality this season makes zero sense to me in the context of the story. There's no correlation to the past Ruby,
and that's a critical problem for me. You are not the first to play Ruby, which means she should not be a whole new character
of your own (or Kripke's) making. It's not believable and it takes me right out of the story. Katie's portrayal of Ruby
needs to count for something in terms of the story to maintain some kind of integrity of character and continuity. There
isn't a SINGLE attribute of past Ruby that is appearing in the current portrayal. None. How am I supposed to connect the
characters across the seasons? I can't, and I'm not, and the lack of connection is dragging Sam's story down, too.
And there is no general issue with women on Supernatural, it's with individual characters. I wish interviewers and interviewees
would understand this. Meg, Casey, Missouri, Ellen, Pam, Layla, and Sarah come to mind. |

Thanks Genevieve (and Support Supernatural!) for the interesting and upbeat interview. I really enjoyed your anecdotes and
reflections. Ruby has me totally intrigued and I am dying to see what her ultimate role in the storyarc is. I get the changes
in Ruby and the idea that she is working differently to get what she wants, and I see that play out in your portrayal of her.
I have watched you grow into the role and give her your own spin, and I enjoy your work. Remember that not everything you
hear represents all fans, and that critiquing the storyline is not the same as bashing the actors and many of us steer well
