Comments: "The pain now is part of the happiness then." C.S. Lewis. With this lovely website, Linus will romp forever in the fields of your memory. (Must have been written by Ann, 'cause I found only 1 typo).

Comments: i saw linus last when he was losing the use of his hind legs. the determination, strength and will he displayed throughout the weekend was extraordinary, second only to the quantity and quality of the attention, patience, and love you displayed towards him. i'm humbled knowing that i have friends so caring, sweet and loving as the two of you. When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. Khalil Gibran all my love and friendship, michelle

Comments: I was shocked when I learned of Linus's passing. I don't know why; I rarely saw him or his people much, but I guess I thought he would always be around. Funny that I didn't know him well and yet his death truly affected me. I have read all of the website. It is beautiful in words and pictures and brought back so many of my own memories of dogs loved and lost. I used to think that I could not determine what was greater: the joy the dog creates in our life or the pain we experience upon their passing. But after losing the love of my life, Jake, on August 10, 2001 and living through it (albeit with engulfing despair, nausea, and YEARS of waking up while in the act of stroking his belly having dreamed he was lying beside me), I think it is the joy. So to Ann and Linda I want to say that one day your memories of Linus and his ways will only bring gratitude and no sorrow, only laughter and no tears. He and you were the perfect gift to each other.

Comments: While I didn't know Linus personally...more his parent...I felt like I knew him through Ann. Our dog Murray has a similar disease as Linus and is in her final stage of life. If it wasn't through Linus, we wouldn't have found out about some of the things that have helped Linus be more comfortable in his last stages (such as the Hartmann Harness and cart from Eddie's Wheels). Linus had two extremely devoted parents and the best life a dog could ever hope for. Ann and Linda are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult healing time. I only know so well what emotions you are feeling. Linus is in a pain-free dog heaven and looking down on you both lovingly for the many years of care you've given to him. I'm sure Linus and Murray will hook up in the greater place;-) Peace to you both. Melanie

Comments: I enjoyed getting to know your sweet pet Linus. I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes reading about his last day. How lucky he was to have Linda there and how lucky she was to be able to say goodbye. We have a feisty doggie named Pai (short for Paikea, named after the character in the movie Whale Rider) and I know how much joy they can bring to your life, even though at times they try your patience. Thank you for sharing your story of Linus. I am sorry for your loss.

Comments: Linus is your forever friend. You are all lucky to have shared your lives together. Your website is such a nice tribute to that time. I will be thinking about you both. Time will heal, but it does take a lot longer than you would think to stop feeling the pain of his loss, and just keep the happy memories. That time will come.

Comments: I remember meeting him and calling him Mr. Magnifico, and how astonished we were that I had called him by one of his many nicknames. He was one of those very special souls in a dog's body, sent here to teach us all how to better human beings. You were lucky to have found each other, and I think you learned your lessons well. Blessings to you for having paid attention, and for having loved him so well.
