I stumbled on your site doing a google search. I was interested in my family tree a few years back (around 2001). My aunt
lent me her copy of "Romance from the old family tree". My grandparents and Uncle were listed in that book. I guess we are
related. Haha. My moms side of thye family are all from NewCastle, Pa.

I read with interest your geneology. I grew up in Bucyrus, OH in Crawford county. There were lots of hildebrands. Your site
mentions the first reunion of descendents of John Hildebrand, held in 1932 in Crawford County.Tony Tupps was elected Secretary.
Tony is my grandfather.He married Grace Baird.His father was Tyra Tupps. Tyras wife was Sophia.Harvey Hildebrand was elected
Vp at the reunion. In about 1959, I worked for Harvey at a summer job. I'm not sure what or who is the connection between
the Hildebrand and the Tupps families. It would be fun to find out. |

Hi, I'm Marge's daughter. Tom ,Edward & Brendan were my Uncles. Maggie English Scanlan my Grandmother. Mary English is my
Godmother. I remember visiting Auntie May when I wasa child & later going to Edward's house on New Years Day for a gathering.
You must be Ann the youngest English. I just received a letter last week from Rosemary English of Arlington Virginia formerly
Buffalo. Her Dad was Uncle Frank English. She is close to 80 and her sister Marie is 83. They are trying to do a a family
tree, but have no computor, so that's how I came about your sight & told my sister Brenda and we are so excited.
I have been trying to go back in history before Grandpa English, & I know that Ned English's grandson lives in Winnepeg
Canada, but I don't know anything else. I contacted a writer in Canada who was writting a book on the Ethie and the Newfoundland
dog in the story. So I had to tell him I was related, but I also have bred Newfoundland dogs since 1979 & it was of great
interest to me to find out thr truth, because I have a picture of Grandpa English Sr. & my Uncle Eddie with a newf dog. The
year had to be 1912 or so because Eddie was born in 1907 and he looked about 5. I also have pictures of the house in Cornerbrook
withGrandma English, Maggie & Annie. I also have a picture done in 1965 of the house when my Uncle Tom was up there. I have
picture of Uncle Tom & Auntie May with Mary & Tom jr. I'll try to send them to you.
This is so exciting to find you. I'm affraid to find out who's still with us. My mother Marge died in 1981, Eddie 1984, Tom
1991. Please let me know if anyone remembers us. Claudia, Joyce, Brenda & Janet.

I enjoyed reading about the English family and seeing the Newfoundland photos. I am related to the English's. My mother
is Margaret Scanlan (Rathjens). I visited St. John's a few times when I was young and stayed with my Aunt Annie English.
I remember going to the St. John's Basilica and can still remember the Altar. I remember the harbor as being breathtaking.
Annie English's home was on Queen St, which I was wondering if that was called Quidi Vidi Rd because the homes in the picture
