Comments: Mr. Schneider... that's what I called you few times I was able to meet you in the pits. I loved stock cars more than anything - and the nights that you were at the track were always the best. Never pushy, always smooth, always there at the end. I began watching the races at Hinchliffe and Ruppert Stadiums - then Wall, Oldbridge, Morristown and Dover. I recall names like Wally Campbell, Bill Chevalier, Al Tasnady, "Stumpy", Lenny Brown, Tommy Elliot and an obscure early (1950) driver named Bob Read. Those Friday and Saturday nights are still the fondest memories of my childhood - and I thank you for them. Now with you in your eighties and me in my mid sixties, we can probably both consider ourselves adults - more or less - but even though you are Frankie Schneider on the track, you will always be "Mr. Schneider" to me. Thanks once again for the great times. Bud Fischer originally from South Orange, N.J. presently living in Brian Head, Utah

Comments: I raced against Franke at Lebanon Valley in West Lebanon NY in the 60s & 70s. Going down the backstretch, Frankie tangled with the car in front of him and slowed very quickly. I was only a few feet off his rear bumper, so he hit the car in front, I hit him, and we all slid to a stop. The entire rear end of his car was up in the air, perched atop my left front tire. I was able to continue. But that is the closest I ever got to meeting him. I drove a yellow 731 sportsman chevy coupe with 356 v8. I am building a model of Frankies Gremlin and trying to be authentic but don't have a good pic for sponsors names. If you can help me with that I would appreciate it. Thanks Don Clark Marathon NY

Comments: Frankie and I raced at Lebanon Valley Speedway in NY. I was running behind him in my yellow 731 and there was a slight accident ahead of Frankie, which I didn't see, and he slowed quickly, I ran into the back of him, and when the dust settled, the back of his car was resting on my left front tire. Actually, no damage to him or me from that contact. I never had any conversation with the man, but I did respect him on the track. This was back in the late 60s to early 70s. Back when it was fun and cheap to race, not like it is now.

Then my brother started racing in the 70s ( Gary Decker 101). My dad passed away in 1990 and my brother died in 2001 from burns from an explosion. I miss them and hearng those old racing stories very much. I'm looking forward to reading the book. It will be nice remembering the old times. Please tell Frankie that my mom and I think of him often. Lots of great memories. Pam Decker Pratt

The Parisi deuce Frankie drove had a skull and crossbones flag waving from the radio antenna. I wanted to steal that flag as a memento, but I never did. I am looking forward to reading the book, which I ordered through the mail. Old timers like me don't know anything about Pay Pal.

Frankie Schneider was always one of the drivers to show up. He, Pete Folse, Buzz Barton, and a few others always kicked the competition up a notch or two. One year Frankie wrecked his modified on Friday night, and had a new one built and racing the next night. He is definitely one who lives to race. John Amstutz

Comments: I met Frankie a few years ago - I was having motor problems with a 1976 Ford E-350 Work Truck (was an ambulance). Frankie sold me a 74 Tbird on his property and I yanked the heads - the car is still there I think - anyway - he rebuilt em for me for $100 and I popped em back on and I ran that truck for another year before I scrapped it. Frankie saved my ass...He is an awesome person, great heart. I stuck around his house and helped him with stuff (moving heavy furniture, organizing stuff) and I moved out of the area. I hope he is well - I really need to stop by if I am in the area. If anyone has any Frankie Updates, PLEASE email me - submariner55@hotmail.com Godspeed frankie....

They were great times back then,an Dennis was there for so many, and did a fabulous job putting it all on paper. As for my Dad there is no doubt he was the "Best Driver" ever.I just wish that we had the money for him to have continued racing longer than he did. He would have been a champion for a few more years if he could have kept up financialy. He still has it in him at the ripe old age of 80.More knowledge of racing than anyone, because now days its not about knowledge of building a car,and driving it, its about who can buy you. My Dad knew how to build a car from junk, not money and could drive it without taking driving classes.

According to muskie Frankie a 15 year old boy " trimmed thier asses on that track". Comments: Frankie was actually the best in his time. He did, in fact, have sponsers. The Pia brothers with car # 2. My father owned cars #17 ( sportsman) and #017 ( modified ) and later #999. Frankie did have some rivals he could not beat, i.e., Jerry Morese ( Car# 10 ) at Roosevelt Stadium and Al Keller at Morristown. I think keller drove the purple # 88 with 4 carbs and could not be touched. One year Frankie came to Morristown with a new kind of engine and beat the pants off all the sportsman and most of the modified while running sportsman. Don Stump, Tommy Elliot, Jack Choquette, Wally Campbell, Parker Bohn, & George Tet were all contenders also. I would love to contact Frankie in some manner. My father used to get so mad at some of Frankies antics,e.g., wearing a tuxedo and getting brought on the track by a limo and another when Frankie drove a lap at Roosevelt Stadium with a monkey.

Comments: That's my Uncle!! When your a kid and see a room full of trophies bigger than you,boy do your eyes get big! Then he let me pick any one I wanted! What a great and humble man.I am a little sorry that I was too scared to ride in that very loud #2 car when I had the chance....I love hearing the stories from my father and all my cousins about the racing days.I hope that all of you enjoy it too.

Comments: Being a charter member of the RFRHS, our club was at the Reading Fair, since we started the club. Frankie was their last year and this year. Last year he was driving a sling shot and had a crew of young guys helping him. Frank looked in better shape than the young guys on his crew. This year I talked to him for about 45 minutes. What a memory, what a man, what a driver. Per our conversation, I do beleive he has never thrown anything away that had to do with racing.
