I stumbled upon this site today as I was searching for a relative. I am a descendant of the Macbride/Kellys. I noted an
error in on piece of data. My grandfather, Jesse Cornelius, did not die in 1924, as is noted on the web site. He was alive
well into the 1960s, as I remember him vividly. Sorry that I don't have the exact year of his death in my head, but I could

Thanks for info!!!!-I'm from Rachel Carrier & Joseph Brown through John H. Brown & Marg. Tate through Hannah Brrown & Daniel
Stephen Smith-their daughter Wiletta Rachel Smith. She married Wm Boyd Linn. Their son Harold Victor Linn is my maternal Grandfather.
The fansinating part is the letter about Unidella & Rachel's tombstone inscription is exactly what I have, but didn't have
her parents names -just the name "Carrier" was recently found-how lovely to have found the rest through this site!!. I've
always been told we came from pioneers and had Seneca Indian relative named Rachel and that my G-G ma Wiletta Rachel Smith
was named after her. I've been to Salamanca, NY trying to find more Seneca info and Rachel's burial site. If I find it I
will relay the info. For the most part during my searches I've been strongly taking into account what politically is going
on and divisions of land/townships names. Old maps of Cattaraugus Co and the old Seneca Reservation are not easy to come by,
but I've bought some books from the Indian Museum at Sal.. NY. hoping they will help me.
Also, through Daniel Stephen Smith (mentioned above) parents Wm Smith & Elizabeth Armstrong. Elizabeth's parents are Robert
Armstrong & Sarah Harrold (Herrod)-Robert came from Fermanagh Co, Ireland then came to Am in 1795. I don't know if he is related
to your site of Armstrong's, but I did find a Harrold (Herrold)-Armstrong web site if you're interested. Just email me if
you are and I'll give it to you. |
