I am about to be married and move to Chesapeake. My fiance, Mike, lives in Chesapeake and my company, CVS Pharmacy is moving
me to begin the opening of stores in the Tidewater area.
I am active in my parish having just completed a 3 yr term on my vestry in Dec, am a Eucharistic Minister, a Eucharistic Visitor,
the chair of our IT & Communications ministry, a Sacristan with Altar Guild, and am just stepping down from our choir.
Also, I am president of a Bishop's or Deanery Chapter of Daughters of the King here with women from 6 area parishes.
I have been in Eastern NC for nearly 15 years and I'm apprehensive about moving to a large metropolitan area where I do not
have an established church family. Having been a member of a small (135 family) parish these last years has meant that I
am involved in a lot! I am 41 and my soon-to-be husband is 51. I was drawn to your website and in particular have downloaded
and read your newsletter a couple times now. I like what I see and am planning on visiting your parish over the next month.
I am just beginning contact with Stephanie Kendall, the diocesan DOK president. She told me which churches had an established
DOK chapter - so far, the ones we have visited or viewed on the web do not call to me.
I look forward to visiting!
