Hello Norm,
I met you at your book signing in Media, PA, in June of this year 2009, at the Veterans Museum. I so enjoyed your talk and
meeting you that day. I bought your book (and you signed it), and I treasure it! I read it from cover to cover that weekend.
I often read parts of it still. I can't get over what you and the other POWs had to endure back then! It was so horrific!
My heart goes out to you and the others. I am so glad you wrote your book, Norm. It has educated me on the history and real
life for you guys during that time, in a personal way, that is so meaningful.
My dad was in the 15th Air Force, stationed in Italy (possibly Tunis or Tunisis). He flew in B-24s. He was a tail gunner.
His plane was shot down twice, and he and the co-pilot were the only survivors one time.
He passed away back in 2001, and I never got to know much more about his life back then. So I am grateful that you wrote this
book. I learned a lot from it, and have a greater respect for you, him and all of the other men and women that fought that
war!

My father was shot down over Berlin in August the same year as you and, per my mother, was in the same prison camp as you
near the Baltic Sea. She would dearly love to write you about this since she's now reading your book and is enjoying it immensely,

Had I been born two years earlier I could have been where you were. But, I graduated from H.S. on D-Day and finished Navy
boot camp on VJ Day. Went to college on the GI Bill, also,
but then Korea got me. Decided to stay in the Navy for a full career as an Optometrist. Almost went to college in Memphis
like many of my colleagues, but wound up in Chicago - with a room mate who had been a B 17 pilot over Germany.

My now deceased husband was a B-17 pilot in World War II. He flew 25 missions and returned to the States on April 6, 1944.
He was a member of the 95th Bomb Group " First B-17s over Berlin" 3/4/44/ In your presentation today on C-Span you answered
many questions for me regarding his "battle fatigue" which he never acknowledged,; I wish he had, as he could have been helped
with his demons. It's a long story. Thank you so much for the help you are giving to those who are today experiencing PTSD.

I was at the division meeting in Denver CO and was inspired by you and your story. I had asked my Supervisor if he remembered

Al Preston, one of my church members here in Oklahoma City, was a POW at Stalag Luft IV. Al has terminal cancer and as I
